Hej Jon, jeg har stadig de billetter vi vandt ved NGJ. Har du lyst til at hjælpe med at samle folk endnu en gang, så vi kan få brugt dem. Send evt. dit mobilnummer til min mail, så ringer jeg til dig.

Hmmm... I want to agree, but I can't. Did you play Call of Duty 4? That game is on rails so extreme at some point you actually wonder if you could just get a golf cart and shuttle from place to place and shoot guys on your way.

But you know what? It was easily the best single player FPS I've played in a long time.

The point is that linear doesn't kill a game, if you make the roller coaster ride very interesting. HL2 did that pretty well (though the no talking was a big grating by the second one) and the first episode was a complete blast.

I too prefer when I can have meaningful choices in games, but I don't mind when I'm on rails if I'm too busy catching my breath to notice. (the sniper level in particular was amazing in CoD4).

Well, after reading about the issue a bit more I guess the rest of the mainstream software industry haven't moved to 64-bit any more than Microsoft has. Between Adobe's Flash and a big pile of media codecs not being 64-bit ready yet it's starting to dawn on me why we're in this transitional phase.

Man this weekend ROCKED - congratulations to US! Prototyping games in a short and constrained time-period like this really stand in sharp contrast to our daily work cycle; eventhough we often prototype there as well, it just can't come close to developing a game in 2 days! What a rush :)

Easy on dude! I have seen the trailer, myspace & the webpage. Remember this is not a Christmas calendar show for children it is for adults. And I think it looks very sarcastic. I think you should see this more like a Christmas show seen through the eyes of a dane who votes for the Danish National Party(DF). It is sad that we have so many danes who does that. But again to see it from their point of view is funny. If you have seen some of the old (DF) posters etc... you should know.

For what it's worth the plan succeeded nicely. Amnennar was murdered (twice now), those potions really do help quite a bit when you need that last bit of oomph.

I think it depends on the company whether there is a lot of TVS going on.

I worked at IO Interactive, making Hitman. There was all the stuff you mention in regards to technical crap and details, but even with that, they never had TVS if you ask me.

One thing IO is really excellent at is taking the extra time to tweak those postfilters and the lighting etc.
Even if I don't like the gameplay, there is no denying that they have a very definite artistic vision and style.

I think the major reason why that is, is that the company grew from a group of experienced game developers, not from the brains of some inexperienced game dev / money man combo.
